I've embroidered all my life and never wasted time wrapping my skeins around bobbins. The few I have were bought that way. It works perfectly well to keep them in the original wrappers. I sometimes use Floss Away baggies (or the ones from Walmart that have some other name) to store skeins, and put the ones for a particular project on a binder ring, but that's as far as I'm willing to go. =) You have some good resources listed.
